Calcium Oxide is used in the applications as Rubber , Plastics , Sealant & Adhesive , Glass Fiber , Paper , Metal Purification , Fertilizer , Water Softener , Construction Industry , in the removal of hair from animal hides , in clarifying cane and beet sugar , in poultry feeds , as a drilling fluid , in dehairing hides , deodorising vegetable oils , in water and sewage treatment , in flue gas purification , in the beet sugar processing industry , in food for pH-control , as a texturising, firming, and anticaking agent .
Calcium Oxide is used in applications where excessive moisture in the rubber compound during the curing process can lead to porosity and irregular physical characteristics in the finished article. Due to the high temperatures required for the vulcanisation process, water starts to boil and blisters can form in the rubber. HiCalcium Oxide is typically used in low pressure curing processes, such as those used to produce, automotive door seals and window seals.
In some plastics, such as PVC, high processing temperatures can also result in blistering. Also some plastics materials contain moisture sensitive ingredients that need to be protected . In such situation HiCalcium Oxide is used as an ideal desiccant.
